3.    Signing of the Minutes from the Annual Parish meeting held on 8th May 2023.

The minutes were agreed and signed by the Chair

4.    Chair’s report about the Parish Council activities during 2023/24.

Graveyard issues at Cobleas have been resolved as to who is responsible for it.

After speaking with The Castle and the Diocese it was agreed that it was the responsibility of the Church who will now take over all the maintenance of it.

The play area floor was renovated but unfortunately it was found that this was not done as to the quote given.  This was rectified after discussion.

The renewal tenancy for the play area is under discussion.  A longer lease is required to enable the council to apply for grants to replace the old equipment.

There have been many discussions regarding some of the ongoing planning applications including the proposed Caravan & Motorhome Club, Childrens homes and festivals.

A big welcome was given to new councillor Julie Duff who joined earlier this year.

Woolsthorpe is a member of the Vale Parish Group which is made up of numerous local councillors from the local parishes to discuss any larger issues within the area.

Speed Awareness monitoring is about to start with members of the village who have had training.

5.    Presentations from groups within Woolsthorpe by Belvoir

Village Hall

The doors have been repaired, the bar rejuvenated and the car park repaired.

The lease has about 60 years left but the building is not in good condition but it will be difficult to replace the current building.  The Committee are trying to keep it in a decent condition for as long as possible and are hoping to be able to apply for grants to assist.

A play group is about to start for the local mothers and children.

The committee wants it to be used by the village and have started ending the contracts with outside groups.  They are hoping to bring the village hall into the 21st century.

District Councilor Rob Leadenham

Community Speedwatch Programme - Woolsthorpe has joined the Belvoir Group.

The Parish Council has moved forward positively in the last 12 months.  Rob reiterated that the council is here to represent the villagers and it has been good to see more villagers attending meetings.

A lot of planning applications in the area have been called in due to the size and nature of the applications.  No-one has a problem with the Castle doing things to make money which they need to do to maintain the Castle.  However there are concerns with the effect of some to the events will have on the local community.

6.    Close of Meeting

The meeting closed at 19:05.
